Overpriced for what you get, poor feature design - Carlos Alvarez - Chandler, AZ United States
I think there are two areas that are important in a shop vacuum; its operational performance, and the overall design of the storage, tools, and how it all fits together. While this model has good performance, the overall design is quite poor. I am very disappointed that I paid nearly 0 for something that is no better than the 0 models at Lowe's and Home Depot. I expected good storage design based on all the included hoses and options.

The good: Very powerful, with both a very high airflow rate and very high total suction. A multitude of filter options lets you pick up anything. The filter bag keeps fine dust from escaping (cement, soot, plasterboard, etc) while the standard cartridge works great for typical construction cleanup. The hoses are very flexible and attach securely. Some others have springy/stiff hoses that are hard to work with and some pull out of the connector easily. The container is solid, wheels are smooth, cord is nice and long.

The bad: The storage part of the design seems to have been created by rabid monkeys. The cord loop ears are tiny, and positioned behind all of the tool storage. This means you have to remove the tools from the bin to use the cord wrap, then the tools don't fit well into the storage bin. The bin is too small to fit even the included tools, making it rather useless. The hose hanger just can't be used with the tool storage bin in place, so you'd have to remove the bin just to store the hose. Also there is only one hose hanger, for the 2.5" hose, while this kit includes a 1.25" hose also. I guess it doesn't matter since the hanger is useless.

Overall this is just poor design with no real reason. They could have put the bin on the front, leaving the cord and hose hangers accessible, or some other design option. I would not buy this item at even 50% off if given the choice again.

Be warned that this shop-vac is large. I live in a New York City townhouse, and find that it is too unwieldy to carry up and down the stairs. I was happy to have its large capacity when our basement flooded during a rain storm; BUT when it was filled with water, it was too heavy to take anywhere to empty out! (My kids scooped out the water from the tank into buckets, and we ran up and down the stairs that way, like the sorcerer's apprentice!) It's got good suction and is definitely a powerful machine, but is much too much for smaller spaces or where you need to carry it around.

Good wet or dry vac. I bought it so I could plug a power tool into it and hook it up to the dust port. I don't know what kind of tool you can use with it but when I tried to use it with my miter saw or belt sander it just blows the safty breaker.
As a vac it's OK but since the dust port switch doesn't work, I could have gotten more power and larger diameter hose for less money.

Very good, but... - Mutt -
The vacuum appears very well made. There are numerous "docks" for the attachments, so you can carry everything at once. The central carry-handle makes moving it easy. Suction is COLLOSSAL! The bad news: suction is so strong, the attachment heads grab the auto carpet tightly, preventing movement. And, the large diameter hose is both unwieldy and heavy. I'm looking for a large-to-small adaptor, so I can use a more-convenient smaller hose and a head with a brush that prevents grabbing.

Light Duty Unit Only - Chuck W. -
When my old Sears vac died, I decided to try the Shop-Vac 610 - it looked strong and the stainless steel tank looked like it would last forever.
One thing I neglected to check on was POWER. This machine is light duty, and I should have known the small hose size was indicative of its capability - it is not nearly as powerful as the old, noisy Sears unit.
If anyone will make me an offer for this unit, I would like to upgrade to something that really performs like a shop vac should.

I've owned one of these for about a year. The vacuum has worked fairly well, and you do get a long hose and decent accessories.

These come with cheap furniture casters, and not surprisingly one broke a few months ago. Since they are mounted on the plastic "legs" that fasten to the side, you can't easily replace them with something better. The casters are not covered by the warranty, and the replacements are featured prominently on the ShopVac site. You must purchase a whole set, depending on your model they are about -10. The casters are odd dimensions so you can't easily find a substitute. This seems like a bit of a racket to me, and cheap build quality and unfriendly designs like this drive me nuts.

Granted, in the big picture this is just a few dollars, but if this sort of thing bothers you I'd recommend finding something better.

Also, note that filters are much cheaper here than on the ShopVac site.
